Elie and Earlsferry are located in the East Neuk of Fife on the Firth of Forth and run along a 1 mile sandy beach. At the eastern end of the beach is Elie Harbour where Elie Watersports is located as well as the ever popular Ship Inn pub and beer garden which looks out over the bay towards Earslferry. At the western end of the bay is Chapel Green, Earlsferry and the furthest reaches of the Elie Golf Course which has many holes which play alongside the sea.
Further to the east of the harbour is Lady’s Tower which sits above Ruby Bay, on the east side of Elie Ness, and was built as a changing room for the Lady Anstruther. It is said that Lady Anstruther would bathe in the waters next to Lady’s Tower, a servant ringing a bell all the while to ensure locals stayed away
Golf and watersports are two of the most popular activities in Elie. Lying only 10 miles south of St Andrews and amongst some of the most famous courses in the UK, Elie is an ideal location for those looking to explore some of the finest links courses around – including Elie Golf Course!
Elie has a small selection of shops including a grocer, fruit shop, delicatessen, baker, newagent and gift shops as well as a local post office.
Accommodation is provided in the village by a wide variety of bed and breakfasts.
